With entries having opened for the Men's 10K last week, training for the event couldn't be easier. A men's jogging group has been set up specifically to help prepare those planning the race on 16 June.
The group will meet at Gorbals Leisure Centre (rear entrance) on Tuesdays, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm starting on 5 February. The sessions will initially run for four weeks but if successful will continue through to the 10k in June and beyond. There will be a minimum of two leaders so the group can be split into various levels if required. In addition to the group there will be free supported training events - a 3.33k at Rouken Glen Park on 6 April, and a 6.66k at Strathclyde Park on 11 May. Both event dates are subject to confirmation.
The 10K is organised by Men's Health Forum Scotland to engage men in Scotland in healthy physical activity and to promote health and wellbeing all year round.. The race starts and finishes in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, going via Pollok Park. As well as the group and training events, organisers suggest going along to your local parkrun to prepare or taking part in the 5x50 Challenge.
