Much has been made of Mo Farah's marathon debut at London on Sunday (13 April), with the 30-year-old aiming to break Steve Jones' British record at the event. Less attention has been given to another marathon debutant who will be trying to set a record of a different kind.
Harvey, the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice mascot, will run at London in an attempt to set a new world record for a mascot running the race.
The Hospice said: "Harvey the Hospice Heart wanted a piece of the action so we're taking him to London where he'll run the marathon. He's going to love it, and we are hopeful he will break the current mascot world record of 4hrs 16mins!"
The money raised will go towards a new Hospice facility in Bellahouston Park being built in 2016.
