Making A Splash

A new beach race in St Andrews offering all the fun of the seaside is set for 22 July. The Splash & Dash Beach Race, a two-lap (four-mile) race, will be held on the magnificent West Sands Beach.

Limited to 150 runners, all finishers will receive a medal as well as a free beer (those under 18 will receive a free soft drink).

Starting and finishing at the Life Guards Beach Hut, the route will be mostly on firm, compact sand. There are no surprise hills and at the end of each lap, the organisers have ‘generously’ incorporated a nice cooling water dip for your pleasure – a change of clothing is essential.

Race awards will be divided into a wide range of categories, from junior through to 70+, as well as prizes for first, second & third overall male and female.

Further information on the event can be found here.
