The curtain is set to rise on the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running expo later this month. The expo – featuring a host of internationally known brands – is just one of many events taking place at the Bught Park in Inverness during the race weekend on 26–27 September.
The sports expo, which is open to members of the public as well as event participants, is free to attend. It offers a unique opportunity for people to speak directly to sports and brand experts from a range of companies including Run4It, Brooks, Garmin, 2XU, Nathan and Jabra.
Race director Malcom Sutherland says: “The running expo is a wonderful opportunity for runners and fitness enthusiasts from across Scotland to see some of the best sports products available, and speak directly to specialists. This is not just for event participants – the Event Village is open to all members of the public and there is no entry fee. We are continually told by participants that the expo is one of the highlights of their race weekend.”
The Event Village is also home to the Baxters Food and Drink Fayre, offering spectators the opportunity to taste some of the region’s finest food and drink with whisky tasting, cooking demonstrations and food samples. A traditional pipe band and local acoustic bands will also add to the rousing atmosphere at the Event Village.
The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running is also family friendly, with The Wee Nessie race for pre-school children under five and the River Ness 5K Fun Run open to youngsters too. Limited entries are available for the 5K and Wee Nessie over the weekend.
