These volunteers play a vital role in supporting athletes by preparing, collecting, maintaining and safeguarding their kit during the competition. Kit carriers also gather any lost property found after the event and return it to the Sport Information Desk.
Anyone over the age of 14 interested in becoming a kit carrier is now invited to apply for the role. Volunteers must be physically fit and a good knowledge and interest in athletics would be of benefit.
A team of eight is required with a team leader who will support the kit carriers at each session.
During the event, over 600 of the best athletes from 50 nations will take to the tracks, all in intense competition for prestigious European titles. As kit carriers will be at the heart of the action, they must demonstrate an ability to follow instruction, work as part of a team and show respect for the competition at all times.
Six sessions of athletics are planned over the three days of the event (1–3 March 2019). All members of the team must be available between 28 February and 3 March, and be able to attend one training session and all allocated shifts.
To apply, please complete the kit carrier team application form available online and return to 2019 firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline for applications is 25 January 2019.
