Kirkcaldy celebrated Valentine's Day on Saturday (14 February) with the launch of its first parkrun. The 5k event in Beveridge Park saw 264 runners attend with 25 clubs represented.
First over the line for the inaugural event was Iain Taylor of Carnegie Harriers with a time of 17:53. He was followed by Dundee Road Runner Steven Peters and Tim Esler in 18:19 and 18:22 respectively.
First female to cross the finish line was Jennifer Kibble of FIfe AC in 19:01. Second and third in the female category were Alicia Cruickshanks (21:03) and Megan Briers (21:39). The midpoint runner was Alison Marven of Falkirk Victoria Harriers in 26:27.
Organisers said of the event: "We couldn't have asked for a better set of conditions for the inaugural event. Thank you for all your support! A big thank you to all our volunteers, funding sources and parkrun ambassadors. You have been invaluable!"
The event is the 17th parkrun to launch in Scotland and the second event in Fife, alongside St Andrews parkrun.
