Joss Marks 80th Birthday With 30 Mile Run

Joss NaylorLegendary fell runner Joss Naylor will mark his 80th birthday with a 30 mile run through the Lake District tomorrow (Saturday 25 June) and has invited anyone interested to join him on the route. Joss, who is running in memory of his father, will also be raising funds for the Brathay Trust, which works with some of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

Joss, who celebrated his birthday earlier this year, boasts a prolific CV in fell running and has completed the Bob Graham Round, the Welsh 3000s and the Pennine Way. In 1976, he was appointed an MBE for his work with sport and charity.

It seems fitting then Joss would organise a run to mark the occasion and the 30 mile route will see him travel from Caldbeck to Wasdale in the Lake District. He will set off at 7am on Saturday (25 June) and is aiming to reach the last leg of his stop around 12 hours later. Full Details of his route are available at the Brathay website.

All of the money raised will go to the Brathay Trust, a Cumbrian based youth charity. Joss is aiming to raise £10,000; you can view his justgiving page here.
