Runners in Dingwall will be hoping to make a splash at the Puffin Pool 5k on Sunday (23 September). First held in 2000, the annual fun run is in aid of Puffin Hydrotherapy Pool - a local charity organisation that helps people of all ages with a wide range of disabilities and mobility problems.
The route, which is 'an easy flat one', starts and finishes at the Puffin Pool and circumnavigates the canal via Ferry Road, Jubilee Road and Achany Road. The event is open to runners of all abilities and ages, with shields presented to the winners and a puffin pin badge for every participant.
Walkers start at 2:15pm, wheelchair users at 2:30pm, and runners at 2:45pm. The cost is £5.00 for an adult and £2.50 for a junior (under 16) or a disabled entrant.
