One of the most challenging races on the Scottish circuit, the Highlander Mountain Marathon, has once again received widespread recognition with confirmation that it will be featured on the BBC programme, The Adventure Show.
The race, which is organised for the weekend of April 14 and 15, changes its venue regularly and will this year take place in Kinlochewe. The two-day event involves teams of two navigating their way through challenging mountainous terrain and carrying all the provisions and equipment necessary for an overnight camp.
Race organiser Henry Blake said he was delighted the event will once again be featured on the programme: "We have just had it confirmed that this years Highlander Mountain Marathon is to be filmed for the BBC2 Scotland Adventure Show."
On their decision to host the event in the north west Highlands, Henry told scottishrunningguide.com: "Kinlochewe is a stunning area with superb running and great facilities for an event with the hall and local hotel being so supportive. Its being featured on the Adventure Show as the area lends itself so well to being filmed; its natural beauty and breathtaking scenery will make for a stunning backdrop to the race."
