Entries for both the 2012 Scottish Gas 10K and 5K are now open. Organised by Edinburgh Athletic Club for Sunday, August 5, the events are a traditional highlight in the capital's racing calendar.
Starting and finishing at the Scottish Gas headquarters in Granton, the 10k event looks set to attract 500 and the 5k 200 participants. Both races are regarded as a great chance to set a PB with a flat and fast course that leads along the promenade to Cramond.
The race will once again support the charity Children with Cancer and Leukaemia, Advice and Support for Parents (CCLASP). Entry fee is £15 or £13 for Scottish Athletics or Jog Scotland members. There are prizes for the first three men and women, first male and female vet (over 40s both cases) and a prize for the first male and female teams - three people to count). For the first time this year, there will also be a prize for the first member of Jogscotland to finish the 10k.
