With just three weeks until the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run on 4/5 October, women are being offered an extra incentive to sign up for the event. Any female runners who took part in the Bupa Great Women's 10k on 11 May will receive a £10 discount on their entry fee to either the 10k or half marathon at this year's Great Scottish Run.
Entrants using the same name and DOB as they did for the Women’s 10K will automatically have the discount added at checkout. They will be joined at the race by European Champion Jo Pavey who is competing in Glasgow for the first time since winning her Commonwealth Games bronze medal. The men’s race will see Ethiopian great Haile Gebrselassie defend the title he won last year.
There is still time to sign up for the scenic 10k along the River Clyde with entries open until 4 October, subject to availability. Entry for the half marathon, which skirts past some of Glasgow's most famous landmarks, will close on 22 September (or earlier if entry limit is reached).
Participants’ friends and families can also get involved by entering into the Super Saturday events taking place in and around George Square on Saturday 4 October.
To enter either event, go to the Great Scottish run website.
