For those thinking of entering the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run half marathon or 10K this year, it'll pay to get in early. Organisers are offering the first 6,000 entrants a £4 discount for either race on 6 October.
This year's event features new routes which will take participants along some of Glasgow's best-known streets and several Commonwealth Games venues. Starting at George Square, runners taking on the half marathon distance will cross the Kingston Bridge on their way to the south of the city and will re-cross the river via the Squinty Bridge. They will then head west to take in the Glenlee (tall ship) and the Riverside Museum before turning back to the city centre. The 10K also shares this riverside focus with an over and back of the Squinty Bridge and takes in five Commonwealth Games venues.
