There is a big change of direction for next year's Bupa Great Edinburgh Run on 27 April. The feature spring event in the capital has morphed into a 10-mile race and the 10k has been dropped. It will be 'back to the future' with thousands of competitors heading to Edinburgh for a distance that was once a classic but has suffered in the 'metric' age. 27 April will also see the Bupa Junior & Mini Great Edinburgh Run.
The 10-mile route will take in various landmarks including the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, and the Grass Market. You can take a virtual tour of the course on Google Earth.
Entries are now open for the event. For more information, visit the Great Edinburgh Run website.
