The Great Run Company has announced a new event – the Great Aberdeen Run – to be held on Sunday 27 August 2017. The Great Aberdeen Run will feature a half marathon, 10K and Family Mile.
The new event was launched in the Granite City today with guests including Commonwealth gold medallist Hannah Miley.
The 10k course will start and finish on the city’s Union Street, taking runners past the Town Hall and County House, towards the Castle Gate then turning right down Marischal Street towards Aberdeen Harbour. At 3k, near the Beach Ballroom, participants will head west, joining the half marathon route later as the course loops round Pittodrie Football Stadium.
Runners will follow Park Road and cross West North Street before passing some of Aberdeen’s most iconic buildings and finishing on Union Street.
