The Glencalvie Challenges return on 10 May following the success of its inaugural event last year. Organised by the Rotary Club of Inverness Culloden, there are two options for runners, the 22-mile Maxi Run and the 11-mile Mini Run.
The Maxi Run starts at Inchbae heading west on the A835 Ullapool Road to Blackbridge, turning right up into Strathviach to water station 2 and the start of a challenging section not normally available to the public. The section rises to 350 metres giving runners spectacular views before beginning the long downhill section over the ford, through Strathrannoch and back down to Inchbae. The Mini Run route follows the same route, with participants only completing one lap.
There is also duathlon, biking and walking options. The money raised at the event will be used by the club to support its chosen charities.
Registration is now open for the Challenges. To enter, visit the event website.
