Full details of the trailrunning festival Glasgow Trailfest, which returns to Mugdock Country Park for its second year on 15 October, have been revealed. The event is not a race but a full-day festival of trailrunning and related activities, designed to provide practical support, inspiration and fun for runners of all abilities and levels of experience.
The 11 guest speakers & coaches are: Marco Consani, Debbie Martin-Consani, Gary Tompsett, Casey Morgan, Sophie Mullins, Lucja Leonard, James Stewart, Robert Hamilton, Mark Russell, Susie Allison and Graham Kelly
The theme for this year’s festival is ‘Building the Dream’, and the line-up is set to provide inspiration, knowledge, skills and advice from elite trail runners and ‘ordinary’ heroes. For seasoned ultra runners through to those new to running off-road, there’s something in the programme for everybody.
The full programme will be split into four strands:
- TrailFIT practical training sessions
- TrailHEROES inspirational speaker programme
- TrailRUN running and racing
- TrailCHAT after party
Ryan Scott, TrailFest co-founder, said: “After last year’s success, we are delighted to have pulled together a line-up packed with so many elite and inspiring runners. Our presenters are a ‘who’s-who’ of Scottish trail and ultra running. If you like running and are looking for an event that lets you learn directly from elites and inspires you to your next trailrunning adventure, I know of no other event in the country that delivers this”
Jo Cowper, TrailFest co-founder, added: “One of the greatest things about last year’s festival was the community of new friendships, connections and training partnerships that started to emerge from it of it - so we designed this year’s programme to create even more opportunities for runners of all levels to run, train and chat together. Hearing other runners’ stories is always an inspiration - and I don’t just mean the elites. TrailFest is more than a race or speaker programme; it’s a real celebration of the sport we love.”
Early Bird tickets are now on sale priced £35 until end of August. Full price tickets will be on sale from 1 September at £45. Tickets can be bought online via the Trailfest website.
