Moustache season gets underway next week with the start of Movember, the annual charity campaign which raises awareness of men's health. This year Scotland will welcome its first event in aid of the charity with the Mo Running 5k taking place on Sunday, November 20.
Race Director Dave Krangel has been encouraged by the response to the phenomenon of Mo Running, commenting: "Mo Fever has been growing at an unexpected pace. 2010 saw the official launch of Mo Running with events taking place in London, Milton Keynes, Dublin and all the way down under in Melbourne, Australia."
With the recent Great Scottish Run demonstrating our fondness of taking to the streets in fancy dress, Dave is confident the event will be a success in Glasgow, adding: "We're excited to be bringing the Mo Running event north of the border and expect hundreds to turn out at Glasgow Green in aid of men's health."
Since its inception in 2004 in Australia, Movember events have raised awareness of issues surrounding men's health, particularly prostate cancer. The craze quickly hit the UK, with fundraising beginning in 2007.
The event begins at 10:30am at Glasgow Green. You can still register for the race at the Mo Running website.
