Records will be played rather than broken at the Edinburgh Running Network’s LP Run as it returns for its 6th year on Saturday (23 August). The event, based on a Texas race, involves running as many Revolutions Per Minute (laps) of a track as you can during 33 and a third minutes, listening to music as you do so.
Get Your Mojo At LP Run!
The theme for this year’s race is 'Get your running mojo!'. Entrants are responsible for counting their own laps but there will be independent verification of the front runners and prizes for the top male and female finishers, as well as spot prizes.
There is also the option of choosing a song you'd like to hear played as you're running and, to tie in with the race theme, organisers Edinburgh Running Club are asking participants to choose a song that’s guaranteed to get them running faster!
Post-race hospitality comes in the shape of tea, coffee and, most importantly, cake. Organisers say: “Edinburgh Running Network members love their cake, and we have a lot of great bakers, so join in and bring along a cake - there will be a mystery prize for the best cake, but all cakes will be welcome, whether home made or not.”
