This Sunday will see fun runners take to the clyde-side as the Inverclyde Waterfront 5K race gets underway. This popular annual race is well supported throughout the community in Inverclyde and the locals come out in force to support the fun runners.
The run will start at 11am on Sunday morning from the Waterfront Leisure Complex in Greenock and runners will head out to the esplanade before turning back towards the leisure centre to complete the route.
With the weather forecast looking favourable, race organiser Joyce Murdoch is looking forward to race day. She told scottishrunningguide.com, 'The 5K here in Greenock is always a great fun family day out. Every fun runner gets a t-shirt and we give out spot prizes on the day. There should be a fantastic atmosphere and all for a great local cause.'
All proceeds from the Inverclyde Waterfront 5K will go to Ardgowan Hospice, a Greenock charity that provides care and support to help enhance the lives of local people affected by cancer and other serious life limiting illnesses.
