Scottish distance runner Freya Ross has written a recipe book to give an insight into the eating habits of a full-time athlete. The 32-year-old has called the book Food on the Run and it will be released on 27 November.
Freya’s Recipe For Success
The Edinburgh AC runner wrote the book while sidelined through injury and says it ‘helped to fill the time’.
Freya says of the book: “My reason for writing this book was to collate my favourite recipes both for myself and so I could share them with others. I want to give people an insight into the kind of food an athlete eats and to show that recipes don’t need to be complicated and include obscure ingredients to be nutritious. These recipes are generally healthy, quick to make and suitable for athletes and anyone else who enjoys good food.”
Freya recently helped Edinburgh AC beat Central AC in the women’s race at the Scottish National Cross-Country Relays at Cumbernauld, as she continues her rehabilitation.
