Salomon is looking to get more runners to tackle the trails this summer with a series of free events. The Salomon City Trail team visit Edinburgh on Saturday 3 August, with 2k and 5k pre-marked courses set out for anyone looking to try trail running.
Starting from 10am until 3pm at Holyrood Park, runners will be able to take advantage of 500 pairs of Salomon trail shoes for testing, with advice available from Salomon athlete Tom Owens (winner of the 3 Peaks Race in 2011). There will also be injury prevention and podiatric advice from local retailer Run4It.
On the event website, the Salomon team describes trail running as: "It's like road running but without the tarmac, traffic, taxis, pollution, cyclists, flat roads... actually, it's nothing like road running... it's way, way better."
Runners of all ability and age are invited. Anyone interested can pre-register at the Salomon City Trails website.
