With only three weeks until the Rock 'n' Roll half marathon series returns to Edinburgh, organisers have announced that Glasgow band Franco will be the headline act for the main stage of the festival. The three-piece will feature as part of a line-up of acts from around the country that will feature along the race route, keeping runners and supporters entertained throughout the event on Sunday 14 April.
Artists performing include Campbell's Wild, Hello Frisco, Madison, Jim Black & Mark Paterson, Rab Burns, Pirate Sons, Gonzo a Go Go, Size Queen, Rolled Up 20s, The Boston Tea Party, Vantage Point and dj Iain Waught. A wide variety of musical tastes will be catered for from the indie rock of Campbell's Wild, the country rock 'n' roll of Hello Frisco, to the heavy metal of Vantage Point and dirty garage rock 'n' roll of Pirate Sons.
Event director, Shannon Davis, said: "We set the bar really high last year showcasing performances from some amazing local bands and we're sure this year's acts are going to absolutely smash it on race day."
The race starts and finishes in Holyrood park, making a loop around the city centre, taking in notable landmarks such as Holyrood Palace, the Mound, the Meadows and the Scottish Parliament.
