In addition to their popular Winter Running Series, Foxlake Adventures has launched a new 5k trail running series aimed at people new to either running or trail running. The Foxtrail 5K Trail Running Series will feature three races on 5 November, 21 January and 4 March 2017, and will be held around Foxlake, nestled in beautiful woodland on the edge of the John Muir Way, Dunbar.
Runners will be encouraged to take part in all three races, with a view to beating personal bests each time and being in with a chance of winning a bespoke FoxTrail medal and great prizes from event sponsors Nathan, Feetures and Complete Movement.
James Barbour, director at Foxlake, said: “Our new 5k runs are the perfect introduction to trail running for people of all abilities. Running off-road through woods, mud and water is an entirely different experience to road or park running, it is challenging, fun and a great way to explore the countryside.”
John Whittaker, FoxTrail Winter Running Series race director, added: “Trail running not only helps build core strength, a stronger efficient running style and the opportunity to really test the flexibility in your legs and lungs, but is also great for the mindset and usually gets people hooked after the first run.”
You can enter the races at Entry Central for £8 per race. A series discount applies for entering all three races. FoxTrail Winter Running Series races start from £17.50 and a series discount will apply for entering all six races. Go to the FoxTrail website for further details.
