Runners braved inclement conditions at the Forfar Multi Terrain Half Marathon on Sunday (8 February). A field of around 200 took on the race, which contained a mixture of surfaces including country park paths, tarmac, pavement, farm tracks, fields and bogs.
Forfar Road Runners’ own Brian Bonnyman won the men’s race in 83:55, beating Barry Ingram (Metro Aberdeen Running Club) by 24 seconds. The women’s race saw Rosie Doull finish first with a time of 94:20 and the midpoint runner was Graham Snedden in 113:46.
Participants took to social media after the event to post their thoughts. Jordan Young added a photo on Instagram with the comment: “Managed to smash my PB today at the Forfar multi terrain half marathon by a whole 23 mins on last year's best! How that happened on a muddy, wet, hilly course I'll never know. Just goes to show that all this training and conditioning is really starting to pay off!”
Paul Hendrie got straight to the point, tweeting: “Well that was hard.”
