With less than a week until its inaugural event, preparations for the Meadows Marathon in Edinburgh are well underway. Organisers are also urging prospective competitors to take advantage of online registration for the race before this evening's deadline.
Runners preparing for the marathon, which is due to take place on Sunday, March 4, will be safe in the knowledge that they will be well hydrated throughout with Highland Spring donating 2004 litres of water. Bannatyne's Fitness will be hosting a warm-up session, whilst Ashley Sports Massage will be on hand to help with any post-race niggles.
Speaking to scottishrunningguide.com, press officer for the Meadows Marathon George Ward said runners can look forward to a great race on Sunday: "Preparations for the event are going really well, everything is shaping up nicely and the team are looking forward to the big day and making runners feel really welcome."
Entirely student-led, this is the first year in which the Meadows Marathon has been added to the half-marathon and 5k events. Organisers are hoping to attract 2000 runners for the upcoming races, and aim to raise a total of £70,000.
