There are fears Mo Farah could miss the Commonwealth Games after he withdrew from this weekend's Glasgow Grand Prix suffering from abdominal pains. The 31-year-old is set to compete for England in the 5,000 and 10,000 metres at the Games, providing he can recover in time.
The double Olympic and World champion remains confident he will do so, saying in a statement: "Sorry to everyone in Scotland but I won't be able to make it there this week. I hope to resume training in the next few days and aim to run in the London Anniversary Games on 20 July and then the Commonwealth Games the following week."
Farah had planned to race over 2 miles at the Diamond League event at Hampden Stadium, which will include Christine Ohuruogu, David Rudisha, and Greg Rutherford, as well as Scottish stars Eilidh Child, Lynsey Sharp, and Chris O’Hare.
