Running legend Ron Hill returns to Edinburgh, the scene of one of his greatest triumphs - the 1970 Commonwealth Games marathon, and will be making a guest appearance at Run and Become, Edinburgh's specialist running shop, from 12pm on Thursday, October 20. Holder of several former world records and the second man to break 2:10 in the marathon, Ron will be sharing some pearls of running wisdom from his extensive career.
In addition to grilling the marathon runner about his experiences at the Olympic and Commonwealth Games, there will be an opportunity to 'Run with Ron' on a short leisurely paced 5km loop of the store, as he maintains his remarkable schedule of having run every day since 1964.
There will be refreshments served at approximately 1pm - 2pm, with Ron staying in the store to answer any questions or simply chat about running. By way of celebrating the former Olympian's attendance, Run and Become is offering a free Ron Hill hat and glove set with any regular priced item from the runner's clothing range.
While this is a non-ticketed event and free to attend on the day, an email to firstname.lastname@example.org confirming your likely attendance would be appreciated. The Run and Become store in Edinburgh is located at 66 Dalry Road, Haymarket.
