Entry Fee Gives Food For Thought

Race entry fees are a hot topic in the Scottish running community, with many feeling mass participation event prices are too high. There is no such controversy surrounding a new race in Milngavie, however, which is charging a rather unusual fee.

The Garscube Harriers 5 Mile Foodbank Race isn't charging entrants a monetary cost but instead is asking them to donate non-perishable food to the value of £10. All donated items will go to to Glasgow North West Foodbank.

The race will be run around Milngavie Reservoirs on Saturday 14 June, and you must enter before 11 June or whenever the race limit is reached. Those interested in taking part are advised to enter as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

To register, visit Entry Central. For more information about the Glasgow NW Foodbank, go to their website.
