Entries open tomorrow (20 February) for the fourth staging of the Southside Six. The 16 mile race set in Glasgow's southside will be held on Sunday 2 November, with 400 places up for grabs!
The start time and route remain the same as previous years (11am start and finish at Queen's Park). First held in 2011, the race was created after six friends wanted to establish an event that included some of Glasgow's most attractive parks. Competitors will run through Kings Park, Linn Park, Rouken Glen Park, Pollok Country Park and Bellahouston Park before finishing back at Queen's Park.
Last year saw a course record of 01:32:22 set by winner, Alastair Scott, of Bellahouston Harriers. Although there are prizes for the fastest times, organisers stress that the race is as much having a fun exploring the city's green spaces as it is about getting a fast time.
With the previous events all selling out, places are at a premium. To enter, visit the Southside Six website.
