Entries for the 2014 Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run 10K and Half Marathon are now open! Organisers revealed last week that both races will take place on Sunday 5 October.
The half marathon will start in George Square and finish on Glasgow Green, taking in some of Glasgow's most iconic landmarks and buildings along the way. As in 2013, the 10k course is a shorter adaptation of the half marathon. Both courses are similar to last year with some minor adjustments to improve the race day experience.
Around 25,000 people took part in last year's event which saw Haile Gebrselassie set a new all-comers half marathon record, completing the course in 1:01:09. Oban-native Susan Partridge, won the female half marathon (01:10:40) with Callum Hawkins of Kilbarchan AAC first male in the 10K (29:39) and Beth Potter first female (34:04).
You can currently enter the half marathon for the discounted price of £27 and the 10k for £21. For more information, visit the Great Scottish Run website.
