An exciting new event for runners who ‘like their miles long and off-road’ is taking place on Saturday 11 October. Edinburgh Ultra Fest will provide advice for any ultra or aspiring ultra runners. The event is hosted by ultra athlete and running coach, Andy Mouncey, and Edinburgh Run Tours host, Lucja Leonard, with special guest Dr Andrew Murray.
The Edinburgh Ultra Fest will feature free workshops, including ‘Ultra Running Made Ultra Simple’ and ‘Pace it Right’ with Andy Mouncey, and Strength Training & Running Economy with James Buchanan from Crossfit. The presentations will be ‘The Big 10’ and ‘Be There At The Finish’ with Dr Andrew Murray, ‘Some Like it Hot: Marathon Des Sables and Multi Day Running’ with Lucja Leonard, and ‘The Spine Race: No Margin for Error’ with Andy Mouncey.
There will also be group coaching on Arthur's Seat, a runners’ clinic held by Dr Murray, pilates and massages, the chance to sample running kit from Out-Run, sportswear from Vivimoss, and gym and swim options throughout the day.
Following the event on Saturday, Carnethy Hill Running Club will host the Pentland Skyline Hill Race on Sunday 12 October. The race is 16 miles long and features 6,200’ climbing.
