Edinburgh Marathon Scoops Thistle Award

AnnetteEdinburgh Marathon Festival has been awarded Best Sporting event for its region in the Scottish Thistle Awards regional finals. Marketing manager Annette Drummod was in attendance to collect the impressive trophy and certificate to mark the achievement.

The awards were presented by Stephen Jardine and brought together a host of different businesses all excelling in their respective fields. Categories covered ranged from the friendliest pub to the most hospitable hotel to the best outdoor or adventure experience.
Annette said of the award: “It's nice to be recognised in what's been an extremely busy year for us. It goes without saying that the Edinburgh Marathon Festival would not happen without the volunteers, marshals and of course the runners who have helped make the event what it is today, so a massive thank you to them. We're already well under way in our preparations for EMF 2016!”
The 14th edition of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival takes place on 28-29 May. Marathon entries have sold out for the past 6 years and look set to reach capacity at the end of December. For more information visit the Edinburgh Marathon Festival website

How!? Edinburgh Marathon is one of the worst organised event I've ever taken part. Is it because they have sponsors who have political power!? EMF doesn't care about runners and their families. They only care about publicities and numbers of participants. They charge a lot of money. They make us walk a mile to get on the bus back to Edinburgh after running 26.2miles and even charge us for the bus ride. There are a lot better running events in Scotland.
