Entries for the 2010 Edinburgh Marathon, Scottish Half and Team Relay opened on September 1, 2009. All previous Edinburgh Marathon and Team Relay entrants should have received their guaranteed entry email. Guaranteed Entry is valid until midnight on September 30, 2009.

You can enter as a standard entrant until the event reaches 12,500 entries or January 15, 2010 whichever comes first. The Scottish Half Marathon will take place the same day as the Edinburgh Marathon. The Scottish Half is planned to start at 8:00am with the marathon starting later at 10:00am, ensuring only one set of runners on the course at any one time. The Scottish Half will still capture the big race excitement of the Edinburgh Marathon and the marvellous grandstand finish at Musselburgh Racecourse. For more information visit www.scottish-half.com

Excitement is starting to build as the world's first Kilomathon approaches. Kilomathon England will take place between Nottingham and Derby on March 14, 2010 (6 weeks before the 2010 Virgin London Marathon) and takes in the picturesque Elvaston Castle Country Park. The Scotland Kilomathon is planned to take place on October 3, 2010 starting and finishing in the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston and going over the spectacular Forth Road Bridge.

Entries also opened on September 1 and with 8,500 expected entrants, they are coming in thick and fast. You can enter as a standard entrant until November 15, 2009. After this time you will have to enter as a late entrant so get in fast and check out www.kilomathon.com

8.00am - an early start for the Scottish Half Marathon. How do other runners feel about that time? Does it appeal to you or put you off?
