The number of parkruns in Scotland extends to 8 this Saturday as Dundee prepares to welcome the 5k event to Camperdown Country Park. With 165 people already registered, the Camperdown parkrun looks set to be a popular addition to the circuit.
Beginning with a short descent around the football pitches, the route heads towards the wildlife centre before moving to the southernmost part of the park. Following a steady climb through the woods to the west entrance of the park, runners head past the duck pond, the golf course, before heading back to the wildlife centre.
With a relatively difficult ascent and terrain of forest paths, the route is described as providing a 'significant challenge to more experience runners aiming for a quick time'. A detailed view of the course is available on mapmyrun thanks to a member of the Camperdown facebook page.
The Camperdown parkrun takes place this Saturday at 9:30am. For more information, and to find your local event, visit the parkrun website.
