Crowne Plaza Edinburgh is set to host two running related events this year, manager Lucja Leonard tells scottishrunningguide.com. Lovebirds and singletons alike are being urged to get their hearts racing this Valentine’s Day by taking part in a 5K Fun Run in Holyrood Park on 14 February. On 13 June the hotel will host the the Trails in Motion Film Festival.
Lucja explained: “As part of my role within Crowne Plaza Edinburgh, I have teamed up with our chosen charity, Bethany Christian Trust, to hold a 5k fun run. It is £10 to enter and all proceeds go directly to the charity to benefit homeless and vulnerable people in Edinburgh, so a very worthwhile cause. Grab your partner, a friend or family and come and join us for a fun morning in one of Edinburgh’s most fantastic locations, Holyrood Park. Hope to see you there.”
Lucja and Edinburgh Crowne Plaza have also teamed up with Go Trail Media, South Africa to host the Trails in Motion Film Festival. The festival brings together a collection of short films about trail running, and has been shown to to audiences around the world.
Festival organisers say: “The main aim of the founders of Trails in Motion is to capture the true spirit of trail running through the screening of high quality short films and documentaries as well as develop an exciting social and visual experience for everyone who shares a connection with the trails. Presenting a varied montage of high quality content from dynamic film makers, the tour aims to develop a healthy community that brings together like-minded trail runners and outdoor enthusiasts in a visual celebration of the sport.”
