The traditional Glasgow Fair Monday 'round the houes' five mile road race, put on by the good folk of Ayrshire for the holidaying Glaswegians, has relocated from Saltcoats to Irvine. In recent years the race has attracted more local people than holiday makers but with the current economic climate and more awareness of our carbon footprints it could be an ideal way for Glaswegians to spend their Fair Monday.
The race will be held on Monday July 20 at 7.30pm.
Irvine Sports Club, Marress, Waterside Street, Irvine KA12 8PE from 6.00pm
Entry Fee : £6.00 SAL and £8.00 non SAL
Entries will be accepted on the evening but can also be sent to: Andy Rennie, 6 Low Green Road, Irvine KA12 8RA - Tel No 01294 274772. (Cheques made payable to Irvine Athletic Club)
The race will be held on paths and roads in the beachpark/harbour area of Irvine. The course is realitively flat.
