Dave Moorcroft Set For The Highlands

Dave Moorcroft, the former 5,000m world record holder is coming to Scotland as a special guest at the Running the Highlands Balmoral training weekend in March 2010. The weekend will focus on marathon preparation and Dave, who broke the world 5000m record in 1982 and still holds the UK records at 3,000m and 5,000m, will be available for advice and guidance.

Running the Highlands will also be running a training weekend at Balmoral for beginners - February 26-28 which will include guided runs, pilates, yoga and nutritional advice.

Following the popularity of the 2009 Run Across Scotland two more (April 4-9 and May 23-28, 2010) are scheduled. Run Across Scotland is a 5 day, easy paced run (83 mostly off road miles) from Inverness to the Isle of Skye. Extremely comfortable full board, 3 star hotel accommodation with baggage transfers, minibus support and guiding all the way.

For those of who haven't got the time to do the full Run Across Scotland or don't feel up the challenge of the 5 day Run - Running the Highlands has specially designed a Running the Glens weekend that takes in some spectacular scenery. The weekend includes two nights, full board accommodation in a 3 star hotel in the heart of Glen Affric/Loch Ness area with 3 guided runs (mostly off road) and return transport from Inverness. Dates: April 9-11 and May 28-30, 2010.
