Culloden’s Historic Race Returns...
Have you taken part in the most historic run in Scotland yet? The Culloden Run returns to the legendary landscape of Culloden Moor on Sunday 28 October and there is still time to be part of this year’s history!
The Culloden Run prides itself on being suitable for all standards of runners and joggers with two race distances to choose from; the unique race distance of 17.46k (10.8 miles) in recognition of the year of the Battle of Culloden - 1746, plus the Culloden 10K race for those runners looking for a shorter battle!
The popular event is organised by the team at Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) working in partnership with the National Trust for Scotland (NTS) team and is based at the iconic Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre near Inverness.
The event is set within a stunning historic landscape, and with both a 10k and 17.46k option attracts a great cross-section of runners from all over the UK and from abroad who come to enjoy the unique atmosphere of this event.
The Culloden Run 17.46K is the more challenging route with a couple of interesting wee hills to conquer, while the Culloden 10K provides a flatter and faster race and both races enjoy enchanting scenery on quiet roads. Passing by the historic landmarks of the Culloden battlefield, the neolithic Clava Cairns and the awesome River Nairn viaduct, it’s not just the running that will take your breath away!
All participants in the Culloden Run receive a special event memento and goody bag, plus there are various category prizes and awards.
