There are now 24 weeks until the inaugural Scottish Half Marathon on 6 September. To mark the occasion, organisers have released an 8-week pre-training plan to help participants prepare for the race.
The half marathon will start at Meadowmill Sports Centre and finish at Mussleburgh Racecourse. The fast and flat course takes in the 'golf coast' of East Lothian, with highlights including the site of the Battle of Prestonpans, Mussleburgh Links golf course, Musselburgh racecourse, Longniddry Bents, and John Muir Way.
Organisers say: "If you have not run for a long time or would benefit from some extra training before starting your marathon training programme, some light training now will really help and benefit you on the day. Together with a top international coach we have developed an eight-week pre-training schedule to ease you into your training routine."
