Anticipation is building ahead of one of Scotland's most thrilling and historic events as Saturday 6 July sees the return of the Corrieyairack Challenge. This one's for the cyclists among our running community and there are a number of new options for completing the Challenge this year with new E Bike, MTB or X-Cross options for the cycling legs of the trip.
However you intend to complete the Challenge, the spectacular beauty of this event won't have changed from last year as you once again follow in the footsteps of Bonnie Prince Charlie through General Wade's historic mountain pass which the young pretender defended in 1745.
The event is billed as Scotland's toughest mountain duathlon by organisers Badaguish.org and demands every competitor's respect. Although entries are by single competitor, you are actively encouraged to join a team for obvious safety reasons.
Tough as it is, the rewards are many. Aside from the sense of accomplishment and the amazing views, those taking part will also get a free pasta party, weekend camping and showers at Badaguish Outdoor Centre.
