The most northerly 10K on the British mainland – Castle of Mey 10K – returns for its eighth hosting on Sunday (29 May). Around 300 competitors will head to Caithness for the event held by North Highland Harriers’.
The race starts and finishes in the grounds of the 14th century Castle of Mey. The scenic route is mainly set on road with a short trail section at the start and finish.
Last year’s event was won in windy conditions by Inverness AAC’s Gordon Lennox in the men’s race, and club mate Jenny Bannerman in the women’s. Jenny finished in a course record time of 37:22.
The event also features a Mey Mile Fun Run and the three mile Mey Meander for walkers.
