Sunday August 8 saw 152 runners take part in the Achilles Heel Bella 5K race, under a sunny Glasgow sky. Host club Bellahouston Road Runners were delighted with the success of the race, with 35 of their members taking place.
The race was won by Paul Sorrie from Shettleston Harriers, winning at the quarter hour mark. Ellis McKechanie of HBT won the women's race in 18 minutes. Paul was followed by David Miller (Irvine AC) and Kenny Richmond of Bellahouston Road Runners with Lesley Chisholm and Kirsty Husband of the Garscube Harriers taking second and third place in the women's race.
Finishing off the race was Mark McGoldrick of the host club in 40.23 with the mid point runner being Jane Wild, also of Bellahouston Road Runners in a time of 22.15.
The race was followed by a buffet at the Palace of Art for all participants and organisers Bellahouston Road Runners would like to thank all helpers and volunteers for making the event such a success.
