As road-running becomes that bit more challenging with slippery terrain and diminished day-light hours, the possibility of falling off the 'winter training wagon' is all the more likely. To combat this, popular podcast Marathon Talk has set up a motivational log called Jantastic, which is aimed at keeping runners on track with a personal online profile.
Much in the mould of festive challenges such as Marcothon, Jantastic allows participants to track their own and other runners' progress and send messages of support. To introduce a competitive element to proceedings you can also select 'rivals,' which pits your stats against runners with similar goals.
The Jantastic challenge is aimed at runners of all abilities, aspirations and fitness levels and is free to sign up. More information is available on the Marathon Talk website, or on Twitter with hashtag #jantastic
