The BBC is to increase its digital coverage of athletics this summer with events such as the World Athletics Championships, Diamond League, European Team Championships, and the London Anniversary Games available on TV, radio, online, mobile and connected TV. In addition to this, there will be coverage of the Great North Run, Gateshead's Great City Games, the Great Scottish Run, and the European Cross Country in Serbia in December and Edinburgh in January 2014.
Coverage will be presented by a host of well-known presenters and former athletes including Gabby Logan (pictured), Jonathan Edwards. Michael Johnson, Steve Cram, Denise Lewis, Paula Radcliffe and Colin Jackson.
Gabby said: "What better way could there be to help grow the nation's interest and excitement in athletics than by offering coverage of the world's most awe-inspiring track and field events all under one roof, here at the BBC. I'm honoured and excited at the prospect of leading the coverage and looking forward to some exciting competition ahead."
Director of BBC Sport, Barbara Slater, added: "We're looking forward to channelling the passion and pride seen during London 2012 into a new wave of events set to capture the imagination of a country of athletics lovers. We're very proud of the amount of coverage BBC Sport is able to offer audiences, given the athletics calendar, including the exciting London Anniversary Games and World Athletics Championships."
