Bark in the Park was hailed a ‘massive success’ after its inaugural hosting on Sunday (29 November). Runners and their dogs braved inclement conditions and 90 mile winds to run the 6K and 12K courses.
Bark In The Park A Roaring Success
The event took place in Strathclyde Country Park, Motherwell to raise funds for Nicola Murray Foundation, Diabetes UK, and Staffordshire Rescue Scotland.
Organiser Christopher Gray said afterwards: “The weather tried and tried to put the event off. It was raining so hard, yet people came today and ran the race. I want to thank each and every single person and dog who came. We raised an impressive £310 for the charities. It was a massive success and one I will never forget!”
One of the four-legged stars of the day was the aptly named Turbo. He’s up for adoption from Staffordshire Rescue and is described as being ‘a great dog to have, full of energy. Playful and calm at the same time.’
