With less than two weeks left to enter the 2010 City of Aberdeen Baker Hughes 10K, runners are being urged to register quickly, before the closing date on April 22 or the 4000-runner allocation has been reached.
Starting its life as one of Aberdeen's annual marathons, the City of Aberdeen 10K, held this year on May 23, was reduced to just 10km distance in 1987 and has taken many routes since then. This year's course will see runners directed around Aberdeen's harbour before running the full 3km of the spectacular beach promenade and finishing past Aberdeen Football Club's ground, Pittodrie.
A popular event on the running calendar, the City of Aberdeen 10K also holds a 10K wheelchair race and a 1K fun run for all the family. The fun run can only be entered on the day and participants are encouraged to fill out an entry form to take with them on the day, to avoid excessive queuing.
Entry to the 10K is just £20 for non-affiliated runners and £18 for members of a Scottish Athletics or Jogscotland group. Closing date for entries is April 22 2010.
