Runners from across the west of Scotland are invited to join a 5k with picturesque views of Loch Lomond in Balloch's National Park this weekend. Run 'n' Park starts at 9.30am on Saturday June 30 - just inside the park's main gates on Balloch Road. Race organiser Maurice Donohue of Jogscotland said: "As well as Loch Lomond, the route includes views of the Walled Garden and Balloch Castle (pictured). There is no registration, no fee and no official recording of times - just a run in the park."
Maurice also emphasised that it was a trial run and encouraged those participating to give feedback on the route and event. The course will be marked out with directional signs but there won't be any marshals. The public toilets will be open and are situated next to the bus terminus.
