Organisers of the Edinburgh Marathon have announced a further 35 places are available for the event on Sunday, May 27. After receiving numerous requests from runners unable to run at Brighton or London, and missing the deadline for Edinburgh, the additional places will be snapped up quickly.
The entries will be allocated on a first come first served basis and will close at 5pm on April 30 or before if sold out earlier. The cost for each full marathon place is £48 - the standard entry fee - plus a £48 donation which Edinburgh Marathon Festival will donate to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Neil Kilgour, Edinburgh Marathon Festival race director, commented: "We're looking forward to a great 10th staging of the event in May and welcoming back the thousands of runners who've supported the event over the years plus the thousands who will be joining us for the first time."
On the extra allocation of places, he continued: "I would like to encourage anyone who has ever thought that they would 'like to' take part to grab the opportunity now and enter a race that challenges them. Nothing beats the feeling of achieving a goal and you can achieve that in Edinburgh. Grab the moment and make it happen."
