300 Needed For Dram

Runners at last year's DRAM

The Dundee Running Adventure Marathon (DRAM) will be held on Sunday 21 July this year, but only if organisers are able to get 300 people to register their interest for the event first. You can do so for free at the Eventfull website. Entries opened last week for the half DRAM which will take place on the same day and time (9:30am) as the full marathon.

Race organiser Nicholas Kydd spoke to scottishrunningguide.com: "DRAM is a different marathon to the norm - it takes place on trails, paths and pavements; roads are not closed. It is a real adventure marathon. Not an event you'd take part in to break any records, but you will get a lot of satisfaction from taking part."

The picturesque marathon is a one-lap anti-clockwise route that uses the full green circular which surrounds Dundee. It starts and finishes at Camperdown Park, with the final section taking runners along the waterfront. There are parking and toilet facilities at the park and there will be eight water stations. In keeping with the event's name, the fastest man and woman will receive a bottle of whisky each as a prize.

To register for the half DRAM and take advantage of the early bird discount, go to the Eventfull website.
