Last Saturday (12 July) Maurice Donohue notched the 80th race of his Mo Go 100 challenge as he completed the Girvan Half Marathon. Following his Mo Go 50 challenge last year, Maurice Donohue is continuing the challenge in 2014 and hopes to have completed 100 half marathons in 100 weeks to raise money for the Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH).
With just 20 races left of the challenge, Maurice will head to Dundee next weekend for the Dundee Half Marathon (Half DRAM).
Maurice, who is Get Active manager at SAMH, said: "This is a personal challenge and hopefully I can encourage and inspire men women and children to achieve their own personal goals. With 2014 and the Commonwealth Games on the horizon, what better time to try and get everyone active, whether it's walking, jogging, running or taking part in some form of exercise to improve their health. My race number (at Girvan Half Marathon) reflected the number of half marathons completed. 80 in 80 weeks. Only 20 to go and next up Dundee next Sunday."
As well as the challenge, Maurice will have the honour of carrying the Queen's Baton Relay through West Dunbartonshire on Friday.
